The St. Gregory’s preschool class collected paper products for North Star Advocacy Center during Catholic Schools Week recently. Teachers Kelli Bostwick and Rachel Hall organized the project. On February 10, five schools sent a total of 10 students to the finals of the Nodaway County Spelling Bee held at West Nodaway. First alternate was Horace Mann sixth grader Joey Kessler. Second alternate was Jefferson eighth grader Bruce Otto. The spelling bee winner was Maryville Middle School eighth grader Cooper Lynn. Second place
The 60th Farm-City Awards Lunch brought out about 50 agriculture leaders from the county along with a few Maryville city leaders on February 10 at the Northwest Missouri Ag Learning Center.

Gary M. Wyatt, 85, St. Joseph, formerly of Maryville, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. Gary was born on February 6, 1937, in Canton, IL, to Nial and Alice Buie Wyatt. He was a 1955 graduate of Maryville High School and received his bachelor’s degree in business

Bennett Ellis Davidson, infant son of Anthony and Melanie Erks Davidson, died Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, February 19 at Calvary Chapel in Maryville. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10:30 am on Saturday
