The Hopkins Community Club will sponsor a beef and noodles dinner from 11 am to 1 pm on Sunday, February 26 at the Hopkins Community Building. The menu of homemade beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, greenbeans, salads and drinks costs $8 for adults and $3 for children. Proceeds support community projects.
Hopkins Community Betterment will hold its monthly meeting at 6 pm, Wednesday, March 1 at the Christian Church annex room, Hopkins. The church is handicapped accessible if entering from the east side. All interested individuals are invited to attend.
The Nodaway County Association of Retired School Employees (NCARSE) will resume its monthly meetings at 9 am, Thursday, March 2 at the Nodaway County Senior Center. The annual Nodaway County Spelling Bee was held on February 13 at Maryville Middle School. The winners were as follows: Bea Olasz, St. Gregory’s fifth grade, second alternate; AJ Adwell, Northeast Nodaway sixth grade, second place; Nino Coniglio, Horace Mann sixth grade, winner; and Malia Collins, Jefferson eighth grade, first alternate.
