A Nodaway County woman was killed in an accident April 24 on Highway 46 when her vehicle, a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, was hit head-on by a 2011 Case IH Steiger pulling an anhydrous applicator.

Virginia C. Burns, 60, Parnell, was southbound when the tractor driven by Marlin F. Meyer, 71, Ravenwood, crossed the center line and the applicator struck Burns’ vehicle. Burns, who was wearing her seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Nodaway County Corner Vincent Shelby.

Emergency personnel who assisted with the accident, which closed the highway one mile south of Parnell, were Missouri Highway Patrol, Nodaway County Sheriff, Jackson Township Fire and Rescue, MoDOT and Nodaway County Ambulance.
