The Maryville School District’s Board of Education met February 6, in both closed and open sessions, to handle personnel and staffing issues.
No votes were taken in the closed session.
Staff issues approved included:
• 2013-14 add an additional 21st Century Grant worker for the preschool SAC program.
• 2014-15 close the high school activities/A+ director, supplemental assignment of activities director and learning center counselor positions.
• 2014-15 add high school athletic director 11-month contract, requiring a teaching certificate and preference given to additional education toward an administrative degree. Also added an activities coordinator 4/10th full time for nine month contract, change the high school librarian open position to a 6/10th full time with 10 days extended contract, supplemental assignments for activities coordinator to group VII on extra duty salary allowance, Skills USA sponsor to group II on extra duty salary allowance, athletic trainer, summer, to group IV on the extra duty salary allowance and a district school psychologist for nine month contract.
Reassignments included Paul Snow, 2013-14 activities/A+ director to 6/10ths librarian and 4/10ths activities coordinator along with the activities coordinator supplemental assignment, and Brittany Cheney, 2013-14 part-time preschool teacher to 2014-15 full-time preschool teacher.
Resignations accepted were Ashley Anderson, 2013-14 middle school assistant track coach, and Katherine Lage, learning center counselor.
Employment recommendation for Anna Owens, marketing intern.
Supplemental assignments were Jessica Driskell, 2013-14 assistant girls soccer coach at the high school; Marcus Grudzinski, 2013-14 middle school assistant track coach; Hannah Erspamer, 2013-14 special services provider for 2014 spring sports season; Paul Snow, 2014-15 athletic trainer, summer; Steve Holtman, 2014-15 Skills USA sponsor.
