Alvarez named new principal at MHS

 The Maryville school board decided at the April 3 board meeting that Thom Alvarez would be the new principal of Maryville High School after serving as assistant principal for the past six years. Alvarez will be replacing Jason Eggers, who will be taking a new education position in Jefferson City.

“Oddly enough I never thought about being in administration,” Alvarez admitted. “I really liked teaching and coaching and it wasn’t until the position of assistant principal presented itself that people suggested it might be something I’d be good at. And I have to say, I’ve enjoyed it since.”

    New health educator to host Coffee Talk events

     The new health educator at the Nodaway County Health Center, Tierney Nashleanas, will be initiating Coffee Talk events throughout the county.
