Maryville City Council approves Industrial Development Project, $25.5M in Chapter 100 bonds for Kawasaki

 After three months of deliberation, the city of Maryville and Kawasaki have come to an agreement which was approved by city council at the March 30 meeting.

Prior to the approval, a public hearing was held where Maryville R-II Superintendent Larry Linthacum voiced his concern for the deal and the financial impact it would have on the school district. No other concerns were expressed.

The agreement includes a plan for an Industrial Development Project for Kawasaki which authorizes issuance of industrial revenue, or Chapter 100, bonds up to $25.5 million which Kawasaki will repay over 10 years. Of the total bonded amount, $7 million will go toward the construction of a 100,800 square feet building and the remaining $18.5 million to go for equipment.

    NOCOMO weathers annual recyclables slump
