Council approves second change order for Fourth Street Improvement project

Posted October 28, 2014 at 8:21 pm

The Maryville City Council voted to allow a second change order for Orr Wyatt Streetscapes in the amount of $124,408.80 at the October 27 meeting. The change order will allow increased water system improvements to be completed along Fourth Street before the street and trail system are poured.

“Our original plans called for the complete waterline replacement of the 1940 water system,” said City Manager Greg McDanel. “But due to time constraints and trying to save some money on the project we cut back on the amount of waterline replacement. We have since decided it would be best to replace the entire line instead of a portion of it. This will save us from having to tear up new street intersections and trail if the aged waterline has any issues in the future.”
