A decade of galas bring community together

 Ten years ago, the St. Francis Hospital Foundation members brainstormed looking for a fresh fundraising approach. They came up with a winner … a gala that fills the winter doldrums with a formal affair for couples to have a special night out.

“We had seen our Palm Sunday Brunch attendance and funds decline a little each year for several years,” said Cliff McNair, a long time member of the foundation board.

Dwindling numbers made for a small contribution to the hospital, when more expensive pieces of medical equipment were on the list of needs to advance the medical care of the area.
