Area man honored for diligent blood donations

Area Community Blood Drive Representative Betty Tinker presented Charles Bottiger, Ravenwood, with a cake during the November 18 blood drive at the First United Methodist Church in Maryville for donating his 100th unit. Bottiger has been donating blood since 1963.

The blood drives that take place in Northwest Missouri supply 70 hospitals throughout NW Missouri and NE Kansas. There is a need of 580 units donated each day to meet the minimum requirements.
