The NFL draft concluded this past weekend after 253 players representing 37 states and two countries were picked during seven rounds.

This per-capita map displays the Pigskin Cult or Deep South producing the greatest number of elite football players.  Two conferences, the ACC and SEC, accounted for 38 percent of the players drafted. The New England and Great Plains states are virtually void of such caliber players.
