The Second Harvest Community Food Bank’s Fresh Food Mobile will begin at 9 am, Thursday, July 28 at City Hall, Skidmore. It is on a first come, first served basis and will continue until supplies are gone. There are no income restrictions.
The Ravenwood community breakfast will be from 8 am to noon, Sunday, July 24 at the Ravenwood Community Center. The menu is eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy and pancakes. Adults are $10 and children are $5. Proceeds go toward the Northeast Nodaway Girls Basketball team.
Pickering Lions sponsor ice cream social The Pickering Lions Club is hosting an ice cream social from 1 to 4 pm, Saturday, July 23 at the Community Building in Pickering. It is a freewill donation and besides ice cream, there will be cake. All proceeds go to the Lions community projects.
The 2022 Hopkins Picnic, August 4 – 6, will feature the annual quilt show at the Hopkins Community Building. The categories for the show are machine quilted, hand quilted, embroidered, appliqued, tied, baby, wall hangings also table toppers, runners, throws and other smaller items. Antique or heirloom quilts will be shown but not judged. The
The Barnard Christian Church will hold Vacation Bible School from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Sunday, July 17 through Thursday, July 21. A meal is provided each evening. Children can register when they arrive on the first evening.
The Burlington Jct. and Wilcox United Methodist Churches will offer vacation Bible school from 6 to 8:30 pm, Wednesday, July 20 through Friday, July 22 at the BJ UMC. The theme is “God’s Wonder Lab” and is for children in prekindergarten through sixth grade.
