AL to hold breakfast

The American Legion Post #528 will hold a freewill donation breakfast from 8 am to noon, Sunday, April 2 at the AL Post in Parnell. The menu includes pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs made to order, bacon, sausage, coffee and orange juice.

AL Auxiliary sponsors pitch night

The Rolla Dicks American Legion Auxiliary is holding a pitch night starting at 6 pm, Saturday, April 1 at the legion building, Burlington Jct. Pitch buy-in is $10 a person, play will be progressive style – 10 games, four hands each. Concession stand is available. Proceeds support veterans and other projects sponsored by the auxiliary.

The Parnell Fire Volunteers are having their annual hog roast from 5:30 to 8 pm, Saturday, April 1 at the Parnell Fire House 102 North Main, Parnell. It is a freewill donation for roasted hog, baked potato, salads, baked beans, dessert and beverage.

The Skidmore Food Pantry will be from 4 to 5 pm, Monday, March 27 and Tuesday, March 28 at Newton Hall. Participants are asked to line up coming down the street. It is for residents of the Nodaway-Holt school district. Senior food boxes will be available to those who are signed up.
