Northwest Missouri State University art students are again giving back to the community while sharing the work they’ve created throughout the year.

Northwest’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts will sponsor its biannual art show and sale from 11 am to 7 pm, Thursday, April 20, and 11 am to 5 pm, Friday, April 21, in the JW Jones Student Union, Meeting Room A. The sale will feature handmade ceramics, drawings, paintings and prints created by Northwest art students throughout the academic year.

In conjunction with the art sale, Clay Club members will host an information table from 11 am to 2 pm, Thursday and Friday in the Student Union for their Coffee and Cups fundraiser.

Ceramics students and art majors have created handmade drinking vessels for the public to purchase exclusively at the event. Patrons may then use their purchase to fill with free coffee, tea or lemonade.

The Clay Club will give half of the proceeds to the The Ministry Center; the remaining funds will cover Clay Club material costs.

“The purpose of these events is to showcase some of the creative and cultural individuals who reside in the area but also to invite the community to experience and interact with art,” Clay Club President Melody Monroe said.
