The 21st annual Downtown Trick or Treat saw record numbers this year with 78 businesses, organizations and individuals passing out treats on October 27. The downtown area was awash with children and adults. Estimates of the number of children participating range from 1,200 to 1,900, but keeping count was a challenge during the two-hour event.

The St. Francis Hospital Foundation Board of Directors recently presented a $690,000 check to SSM Health St. Francis Hospital for technology purchases and equipment upgrades.
