Donald “Don” Merrigan, 87, Maryville, died Friday, October 21, 2016, at Parkdale Manor, Maryville. He was born March 3, 1929, in Guilford, to Patrick “Pat” and Irene McLaughlin Merrigan. He graduated from high school in Stanberry. Funeral services were Monday, October 24 at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Maryville, with Father Martin DeMeulenaere officiating. The Clearmont United Methodist Church will host a Lord’s Acre dinner and country store bazaar from 4 to 7 pm, Saturday, October 29. Donations will be accepted for the dinner featuring pulled pork sandwiches, chili, vegetable soup, brownies and pumpkin bars. The country store will feature breads, jams, jellies and other items.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Eric Greitens is on a bus tour across Missouri and will be in Maryville on Friday, October 28. There will be a campaign rally for him at 3:30 pm at the Maryville Country Club. This is not a fundraiser, but a rally to show support for his candidacy.
